What We Offer
A growing need: Language instruction is becoming more and more important for businesses and community service organizations in the Central Ohio area.
The Language Institute at Columbus State can help individuals, companies and groups effectively learn to communicate in a foreign language or strengthen skills in spoken and written English as a Second Language.
Brush up your skills: The Institute offers classes on basic English. These include classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) or basic classes to prepare for the GED. We also offer classes in other languages such as Spanish, Somali, French and German.
Train your workforce: We provide customized courses for businesses and their employees. Our trained instructors will work with you to determine what language skills your employees need. For example, we offer classes in Spanish for health care and manufacturing companies. We also offer language and cultural sensitivity training.
Apply Online: Once you've decided what courses to take, apply online.
Noncredit Courses: The Language Institute generally offers noncredit courses. If you're looking for credit courses that lead to a degree or qualify for financial aid, visit Columbus State's Modern Languages Department.
