Leadership Institute schedules info forums
If you're considering applying for the 2011-12 Leadership Institute and have questions or need additional information, two forums have been scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, from 9–11a.m. and 1–3 p.m. in WD 407.
Members of the Leadership Institute Class of 2011 will be there to share their experiences and insights, as well as answer all of your questions. Chorus to perform Tuesday in the Bookstore
Columbus State's own choral group, Chorus Columbus State, will perform live at the Bookstore on Tuesday, August 9, from noon–1 p.m. Directed by Gordon Franklin, the group will deliver a wide variety of song types and genres including some Rogers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter and Gershwin classics! Stop by to hear an amazing performance and enjoy lunch and lattes in the DX Cafe!
State Auto to present Jazz on Jefferson August 19
Head on over to Thurber Park on Jefferson, right next door to Columbus State, for an afternoon of food, friends and great jazz music, Friday, August 19, starting at noon!
The Vernon Hairston Trio with special guest vocalist Mary McClendon will perform in the gazebo on the square. The concert is sponsored by State Auto and the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus.

Join ITDL for a live virtual journey to Kythira, a Greek island, on Tuesday, August 9. We'll talk with Lita Tzortzopoulou-Gregory, a Columbus State Humanities instructor and her husband, OSU Professor of History Tim Gregory, about their archaeological work in Greece with Ohio State students—live and on location! Take part in a unique, compelling, international videoconference and then stay to watch amazing stereoscopic 3D content of their travels to ancient Greek destinations.

RAVE system to be tested Aug. 17
The Columbus State Department of Public Safety will test the college’s emergency mobile alert system, RAVE, on Wednesday, August 17, at 9 a.m., in preparation for Autumn Quarter. Those enrolled in the service will receive a test message on their cell phones. To enroll in the RAVE mobile alert system, go online here and enter your information!
