Web Time Entry: a new way of reporting and processing hours worked

The Web Time Entry committee members recently announced efforts to implement a new online time entry system. During the next 10 months, the Web Time Entry module will replace most manual paper time cards currently in use. As each department is brought online, the college's part-time employees will access the new Web Time Entry system to report their hours worked online. Supervisors will be able to review and authorize the hours online, and Human Resources/Payroll will process the authorized hours.

The new system will be implemented starting in October. Supervisors will be contacted by Payroll to initiate each department's implementation and training.

In addition to reducing inefficiencies in the manual process, the new online system will:

One important goal of the Web Time Entry committee is to provide training and information to all who will use the new Web Time Entry screens.   Look for announcements as each department goes online with their hours worked.

Anderson wins tickets to Taste from AQIP

Congratulations to Jill Anderson, Disability Services, for winning two tickets to the September 12 Taste the Future gala in the AQIP Survey Prize Drawing.

Café open during break

During the summer break, September 11-19, the Café will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30a.m.-9 a.m. for continental breakfast and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for grill and deli lunch service. Beginning Wednesday, September 20, the Café will return to normal operating hours: Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-1.p.m.


Transfer Wonderland coming to Columbus State in October

The annual Columbus State Transfer Fair "Transfer Wonderland" has been scheduled for Thursday, October 12, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in the Delaware Hall Gymnasium.   Be sure to remind your students of this wonderful opportunity to visit with representatives from numerous Ohio colleges who are interested in helping them enroll to complete their bachelor's degrees.

Reminder: Graduation on Friday

The Summer Quarter Commencement Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 8, at Veterans Memorial, 300 W. Broad St. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Parking at the Vets Memorial parking lot is $4.50 per car. The Summer Quarter Commencement speaker will be Raquel Diaz-Sprague, PharmD., activist, scholar and adjunct professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health.   She is executive director of the Association for Women in Science in Central Ohio (AWISCO).
