Surveying Certificate

Surveying is considered a profession of high-tech, multi-disciplines having a central focus and application in land related issues and in the orderly development of land resources.  Each of these disciplines employs state-of-the-art equipment and resources at the forefront of the emerging technologies such as:

Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Cadastral Surveying, Remote Sensing, Spatial Information Databases, Geographic Information Systems and Global Positioning Systems.

The Civil Engineering Technology Surveying Certificate is a one-year, three-quarter program, which serves a dual purpose:

Professional Registration as a Surveyor: The certificate coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering fulfills the State of Ohio Board of Registration for Engineers and Surveyors (Click here for Ohio Survey Law Link) Education Requirements toward registration as a Professional Surveyor

                Or

A Rewarding Career in Land Development and Land Systems: The certificate also provides a basis for entry-level careers in survey field and office operations. The one-year certificate is a directed focus program which empowers students with those skills necessary for construction layout of buildings and roadways and, working under the direction of a Registered Surveyor in land surveying and subdivision of land.
