Perkins legislation as 25% or fewer of the student’s gender represented in the workforce, e.g. Women in Engineering and Men in Health Technologies).

Did you know?

Women and men of color are still grossly under-represented in many STEM career fields, yet women in STEM earn 33% more than women in non-STEM careers (U.S. Department of Commerce, 2011).  In addition, STEM careers are the greatest “equal opportunity employer” (Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, 2011).  It is important for all students to have access to the high growth, high tech, and high demand jobs of the future in STEM in Ohio, and with the Commerce Department projecting that the number of STEM jobs will have grown 17% from 2008 to 2018, we need to prepare students for these opportunities.
