General Session - Digital Photography Basics

They say one picture is worth a thousand words. Learn how to “say more” through great digital pictures in this workshop.  [NOTE: All students will participate in this workshop.]
     
   

NOTE: [Students will be able to choose 1 session from among these 7 optional workshops.]

1.  
Alice in Wonderland Did you ever wonder how to make a dragon fly, create a spinning skater, or make a toad dance. In this session, you will use Alice to create a virtual world in which you can program an object to move however you want to.  Come and see how this exciting and easy-to-use programming language works.  Participants in this session will receive an Alice textbook and disc.
   
2.  
Move It! Creating Simple Animations using Flash  Whether you're creating standalone movies, interactive demos, or cool web components, Flash is the software of choice .  In this session you'll be introduced to the power of this software by creating simple animations
     
3.  
Phabulous Photoshop Do you know how to copy your photos to a PC and then have fun with them? Come to this session and learn how to use photo editing software to create a phabulous photo album.
     
4.  
Color Me Digital.  Digital painting is a technique that combines computer technology and traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, impasto, etc. to create digital art for use in various applications or for personal enjoyment. In this workshop, students will use digital painting software and Wacom tablets to create their own masterpieces.
     
5.  
Illustrate your Facebook. In this workshop, you will use Adobe Illustrator to make digital graphics for use in websites such as Myspace and Facebook, or traditional graphics for making greeting cards or other printed materials. Illustrator is the standard way to create visual designs.
     
6.  
Get Away from it All…with HTML. In this workshop, you will work on how to use this easy-to-use but powerful  language to design a basic website about your ideal vacation spot
     
7.  
Free Downloads! Software for Audio/Video.  It’s a brave new world out there and someone wants to view it . . . or hear it . . . and someone needs to make it. This workshop will show you how to use the power of free software for audio and video.
