Strategic Planning website now available
Columbus State has embarked on a comprehensive process to update our Strategic Plan. Our environment is changing, both in education and in the business world, and our Strategic Plan will guide our response to it.
The college is working on the plan in the spirit of open inquiry, and actively seeks feedback from the campus community and the central Ohio community.
Please visit our Strategic Planning website, where you can find a list of those serving on the Steering Committee, a timeline of the Strategic Planning process, as well as research and documents that relate to the process.
Reminder: Sunrise on Semesters is Wednesday!
After several years of being just over the horizon,
semesters are finally dawning, and it’s time to
celebrate! Faculty, staff, and students are invited
to gather near the Light Sails sculpture in the
center of campus on Wednesday,
August 29, beginning at 7:45 a.m.
Weeks of Welcome events start this week
The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEaL) will offer not one day of Welcome Back activities, but three weeks of informative events to help Columbus State students begin their journey in college! The Weeks of Welcome (WOW) will be held at both Delaware and Columbus campuses, starting with the Sunrise to Semesters event on Aug. 29, the Welcome Team, campus tours and a SEaL open house.
Week Two features a (Student) Club Carnival on September 4, the traditional Welcome Back Day on the 5th, and more throughout the week.
Week Three will offer loads of workshops that will help students connect with services and activities throughout their journey at Columbus State.
You can see a complete list of all the WOW events online here.
Nominate alumni in preparation for Columbus State’s 50th anniversary!
Columbus State will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2013—the college held its very first classes on September 30, 1963—and we are busy collecting stories of our outstanding alumni and former students for a commemorative history book.
Do you know someone who graduated from Columbus Area Technician School (CATS), Columbus Technical Institute (CTI), or Columbus State, and who has made a great impact in the community or in their profession?
Nominate that person on our Outstanding Alumni page, including contact information, and we may use your stories in the 50th Anniversary history book!
You are also invited to nominate former Columbus State faculty, staff or leaders who have made a great impact on the college and in the community.

Whether it was 1968 or just last month, we’re interested in hearing success stories from Columbus State graduates of all 50 years!
