Financial aid for textbooks to change Summer Quarter
Columbus State is working to enhance the process by which students receive financial aid funds for the purchase textbooks and course materials, and ensure the funds are properly used.
Scheduled for a launch in Summer Quarter 2012, the new process will eliminate the practice of advancing funds via check or direct deposit to students. The previous process often caused students to delay their purchases and be unprepared for their classes.
Based on availability of funds, the new process will provide eligible Financial Aid students with a credit at the Columbus State Bookstore of up to $500. These funds will be available prior to the start of the term and can only be used toward the purchase of textbooks and course materials in-store at the Columbus campus.
All remaining financial aid credit balances, including the balance of unused Bookstore credit, will continue to be disbursed through check or direct deposit starting the second week of the term.
This change supports Columbus State’s goal to increase student success by ensuring that funding is available prior to the term and that students have secured books and materials before the start of classes.
For more information about the new process go online here: http://www2.cscc.edu/services/fabookstore/faq.shtml
