winning holiday card designsStudents submit winning college holiday cardsThe President’s Office and the Development Foundation will send holiday greetings designed by two Columbus State students who entered a contest through the college’s Web site. Christine Semanovich entered a warm holiday photograph as her card, which was selected by President Moeller. Perry Hodies III entered a cheerful mix of images from campus, which will be sent out by the Development Foundation to donors and friends of the college. Both students won a $500 gift certificate to the Discovery Exchange.

Desktop computer software updates pendingAs part of normal software maintenance, PC/LAN Support will be automatically installing a Novell Client update and an updated Novell ZENworks agent to campus PCs when you log into the network, starting Monday, Dec. 3. The first PCs affected will be those in Columbus Hall, with others to follow, as shown in the schedule below.

Not all computers on campus need both of these updates.

The application that performs the updates looks at the version level of the current Novell Client and ZENworks agent to determine if the computer needs updates of one or both applications.

Each application update will require a reboot to complete installation.  You will see two automatic reboots if the computer you are using required two updates.

Do not turn off the computer during this process.

Computer labs will not be affected, but smart classroom carts could be.

The schedule for these updates is as follows:

Dec. 3 - CO
Dec. 4 - AQ
Dec. 5 - UN
Dec. 6 - TL
Dec. 7 - NH
Dec. 10 - FR
Dec. 11 - EB
Dec. 12 - RH
Dec. 13 - DH
Dec. 14 - MA
Dec. 17 - DE
Dec. 18 - TIC
Dec. 19 – ATS includes WD
Dec. 20 – BF, DU, WV, SE
