Columbus State chef team to compete in national "Knowledge Bowl" A team of chef apprentices from Columbus State will compete in the Baron H. Galand Knowledge Bowl July 31 at the American Culinary Federation (ACF) national convention in San Antonio. The team won the Northeast Regional competition to qualify for the finals. Since 1992, teams of students/apprentices, who are student members of ACF chapters, have faced off in a battle of the brains. This competition is named in honor of past ACF National President Baron H. Galand, who championed the junior members and encouraged them to get involved in their profession outside of their kitchens. The competition is a perennial favorite at the national conference, pitting teams of students from around the country against one another in a round-robin format that poses answers, "Jeopardy" style. The team providing the most correct questions is the winner. Good luck to our Columbus State team July 31!
