Lewis R. Smoot Jr. – Smoot Construction Co.
Smoot Construction Co. is one of the nation’s largest construction companies, and someday it’ll be led by a Columbus State grad. Lewis Smoot Jr. is a senior vice president at the company, which was founded by his grandfather in 1946, and he’s a proud product of Columbus State’s Construction Management program.
Priscilla Tyson – Columbus City Council
Priscilla Tyson earned an associate degree in retailing from Columbus Technical Institute, the predecessor to Columbus State. Her career took her through executive positions at OhioHealth and National City Bank, and now she’s a Columbus City councilwoman. “At Columbus State, I learned valuable critical thinking skills that I was able to apply in the classroom and in the outside world,” she says.
Walker Evans – ColumbusUnderground.com
Walker Evans graduated Columbus State in 2001 with a degree in Interactive Multimedia Technology. That gave him the skills he needed to start ColumbusUnderground.com, a popular online resource for news & culture in the capital city. Evans recently branched out with a site aimed at small businesses, TheMetropreneur.com.
