Week 5:Tutoring

With one-third of the quarter down, our Biggest Learners are buckling down and hitting the books. But they're not doing it alone.

Get to know the Aaron, who served two tours in Iraq and is learning to serve his community in a new way. He's volunteering with Ohio Combat Veterans and enjoying the sense of teamwork in the A-Team.

The teams took a tour of Columbus State's many tutoring resources this week. They visited Peer Tutoring, which provides a free student tutor for a full quarter in some math classes. They saw the Math tutoring area, and the Biological and Physical Sciences tutoring area. Team Swag member Jack has already taken advantage of Chemistry tutoring to help with that class.

Columbus State offers tutoring in many of its most popular (and hardest) courses, including Writing and Psychology. Check out cscc.edu/tutoring for a full list.

Coach Reuel urged his Team Swag to join study tables to help get learning. And Coach Carolyn, a Psych professor, shared some mental tricks to help remember complex information.
