Note on Payment

Starting Autumn 2012, tuition will be $122.62 per semester credit hour for in-state students, or $3,679 a year for a student taking 15 hours per semester. To be considered a full-time student, you must take a minimum of 12 hours per semester.

Take More to be Sure

Take more to be sureSemester classes last 15 weeks, so the credit hours are calculated differently than quarter classes. You'll need at least 12 credit hours per semester to maintain full-time status for Financial Aid purposes. But 16 hours is really the way to go to finish in two years.

Check with your advisor to make sure you're on track. Plans of study have been revised for semesters, so be sure to get yours.

Pathway to Ohio State

Preferred PathwayOur Preferred Pathway partnership with Ohio State University is a clear, direct route to a bachelor's degree. Qualified students follow a pre-major track for two years at Columbus State. After successfully completing the program, they're admitted to Ohio State to finish their bachelor's degree. Along the way, scholars receive dual advising, special orientation and support services, access to resources at both institutions, and Columbus State's low tuition.

Switch 2 Semesters

Columbus State switches to semesters with Autumn Semester 2012. If you are a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours), you may have to schedule an additional class or two to meet full-time status because many semester courses earn 3 hours of credit. Transition students (those who started under quarters and will finish under semesters) should see an Advisor to make sure they're on track academically.
