Community Testing Policies

There are Industry Standards benchmarks to ensure that candidates test in a fair, secure, and comfortable testing environment. Community and Professional Testing has completed an extensive application process with all our Test Vendor partners to confirm we are capable and committed to providing excellent test administrative services.

  • Proctor Certification – The Testing Center Supervisor, Coordinator, Specialists and Testing Assistants have all obtained Test Vendor Training and Certifications to signify mastery of all their respective policies, procedures and practices of their test product inventory and test administration platform.
  • Candidate Testing Requirements – Test registration, scheduling, fees, method of payment, eligibility approval, etc., vary and are determined by the specific Test Vendor. Contact the Test Vendor for specific test requirements and information or contact the Testing Center for assistance through this process. The Testing Center supports all candidates, employers, and Test Vendors by providing continuous testing Monday through Saturday.
  • Testing Security and Conduct – The Testing Specialist/Proctor’s primary responsibilities are to:
    • Safeguard all aspects of test security including supervising candidates at all times.
    • Maintain the best possible conditions for testing, i.e., quietness, no disturbances, comfortable testing conditions.
    • Ensure the safety of all candidates and testing personnel.
    • Conduct the test efficiently and fairly in a standardized manner.
    • Each Test Vendor has specific guidelines that the Test Center is to follow regarding candidate verification, check-in, password, workstation setup, test administration, score reports, check-out, incident reports, etc. The testing staff is to follow each Test Vendor protocol for their test candidates. The Testing Center has a high-performance expectations from the Test Vendor partners to professionally follow their testing protocol, from the internal College partners who entrust their student candidate testing to the Testing Center, and from our customers expecting a professional and fair testing environment.
  • Constant Visual Monitoring of candidates by either testing room walk through every 15 min., testing room windows, or video surveillance monitor.
  • Audio and Video surveillance are conducted routinely as a matter of normal business operations. Recorded data from the testing room(s) cameras are stored on the system server hard drive for six months. At that time, the system automatically deletes the video data and creates space for new recording.
  • Records Retention – The Testing Center retains all pertinent testing information/data, i.e., answer sheets, attendance records, etc., in a locked file cabinet in accordance with the specified vendor requirements.
  • Testing Room Prohibited Items – Each of our Test Vendors have specific guidelines on prohibited personal items a candidate may have in the testing room. The testing candidate can only take into the Testing Room what the testing staff provides him/her. The Testing Center has 70 lockable lockers to store all personal items while testing. Children are not allowed in the Testing Rooms and/or the Testing Center Reception Area.
  • Prohibited items include but are not limited to:

    • No food, drink or gum.
    • No electronics of any kind. This includes unapproved calculators, cell phones, mp3 players, iPods, Bluetooth, digital watches or smart watches etc.
    • No hooded garments of any kind. This includes hoodies, jackets, sweatshirts, sweaters etc.
    • No hats or head coverings of any kind. Religious head coverings are allowed. 
    • No sunglasses, bags, purses, or backpacks.
    • No highlighters, pens, mechanical pencils, paper, books.
  • Candidate Responsibility – The Testing Candidate is responsible for knowing all Test Vendor requirements for testing including fee payment, scheduled date/time, check-in ID requirements, the length of exam, allowed testing aides, score report, cancellation, etc.
  • Confidentiality – The foremost important expectation of the Testing Center Staff is to be discreet and handle confidential information with the greatest of sensitivity and compliance with all Test Vendor protocol. This includes all verbal and written communications. There is an ethical responsibility to protect this information and a legal requirement to safeguard the information at all times.

Confidential communications include information on student data and test scores as well as on all test prompts and other test issues that students may not access in the interest of fairness. Confidentiality also requires compliance with all Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines for communication with persons other than the student test-taker.
