Placement Test

Placement tests in Reading, Writing and Math are required for students who do not have college-ready ACT/SAT scores or official transcripts with qualifying college credit. The Science Placement Test is required only for students who will take college-level Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Department Testing

The Testing Center provides pre-arranged testing services that meet the curricular needs of individual departments throughout Columbus State.

Classroom Makeup Exams

Students enrolled in traditional classroom courses that receive course curriculum by classroom lecture may take an exam in the Testing Center. These exams are submitted via e-mail by the instructor who has verified the student missed a classroom examination due to a medical emergency, personal crisis, etc. - situations that are third party documented. Results of the test can be obtained from the instructor.  Students must schedule an appointment to take his or her makeup exam.

Distance Learning Testing

Courses taught via the web, blended or video methods may have tests administered by the Testing Center. Results of the test can be obtained from the instructor.

Disability Services Partnership

"It is Columbus State policy to provide reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities." If you would like to request the appropriate and approved testing accommodations because of a physical, mental or learning disability, please contact the Disability Services Department, located in Eibling Hall Room 101, or call 287-2570. Policies

NOTE: Students will need to know their 7 digit Cougar/Student ID number when coming to take exams. This can be found on a student's schedule accessed through CougarWeb or on their Cougar ID card.

Everyone is required to present valid photo identification when reporting to the Center. If an individual does not have valid identification, an exam will not be administered. The name on the student's ID must match the name in the CSCC system. (Valid identification is a state driver's license, state identification card, and/or CSCC Cougar student identification card.)
