Crime Alert: 

Date of Incident: July 27,  2016

Time: 10:48 p.m.

Description: Theft (Motor Vehicle)

Location: CSCC Columbus Campus

Description: On July 27, 2016, between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. a Gray 2014 Toyota Corolla, 4 door, Ohio license plate DCHOICE was stolen from the Columbus Campus 11-S parking lot. No witnesses reported in this incident.

Update: On July 28, 8:15 a.m. The owner of the vehicle reported to the Columbus State Police his friend took the vehicle without telling him.

Suspect: Unknown

Open or Closed: Closed

Date of Incident: February 22, 2016

Time: 5:45 pm

Description: Robbery

Details: On 2/22/16 at 5:45 p.m. two (2) males approached a Columbus State student in front of Ballet Met one of the males struck the student in the mouth with his fist and stole his book-bag and ran towards Columbus State.

Suspect: The robbery suspects are as follows: UPDATE: 2/23/16

  • African American male approximately 16-18 years old, 6' tall, stocky build, with a fade haircut. Wearing an Ohio State hoodie with white letters and grey outline, light blue denim jeans (sagging at waist) with red boxer shorts.
  • African-American male approximately 16-18 years old, 5'10" tall, skinny build, with shoulder length dreadlocks,  and mustache connected at the chin. Wearing a black beanie with gold circular stripes, black hoodie and blue denim jeans.

Date of Incident: February 3, 2016

Time: 11:58 am

Description: Inappropriate Touching

Details:  On 2/3/16 at 11:58 a.m. a female on the Columbus Campus was inappropriately touched on the buttocks by an African-American.

Suspect: African-American male 6' 2", wearing a red hoodie, green T-shirt, grey sweatpants, and a blue backpack.

Date of Incident:  January 25, 2016

Time:  1:20 p.m.

Description:  Attempted Robbery

Location:  CSCC Columbus Campus

Details:  An African-American male approached a male student in the 11-S parking lot. The African-American male struck the male student and demanded items from the student.  The student defended himself and the suspect was last seen running west on Mount Vernon avenue.

Suspect:  African American male 6'1"- 6'2" tall, medium build, no facial hair or glasses, and short dreadlocks; wearing a black beanie hat, black, puffy, zippered coat, and black Nike shoes with a white swoosh.

Date of Incident:  September 24, 2015

Time: 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Description: Vehicle Theft

Location: CSCC Columbus Campus

Details: Red 2013 Chrysler 200-S,  Ohio license plate GHG8282, stolen from the Columbus Campus 12-S parking lot. Witness observed a blacked-out black truck towing the vehicle from the parking lot.

Suspect: Unknown

Time: 8:20 pm

Description: Sexual Imposition (forcible fondling)

Location: Corner of Spring Street and Jefferson Avenue. (In the City of Columbus)

Details: The Columbus Police Department is investigating a sexual imposition that occurred in the City of Columbus at the corner of Spring Street and Jefferson Avenue.  A female was inappropriately touched by an African-American male wearing a red jacket and blue jeans. After the incident the suspect left the scene heading west on Spring Street.  If you have any information please call the Columbus Police Department at 614-645-4545.

Suspect: African-American male, wearing a red jacket and blue jeans.

On September 2, 2015 this investigation was closed as an unfounded complaint.

Date of Incident: May 2, 2015

Time: 3:45 pm

Description: Sexual Imposition (forcible fondling)

Location: Corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and Cleveland Avenue. (In the City of Columbus)

Details: The Columbus State Police Department is investigating a sexual imposition occurred in the City of Columbus on the corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and Cleveland Avenue on 5/2/2015 at 3:45 pm. A female heading towards campus was inappropriately touched by an African-American male .  After the incident the suspect left the scene heading North on Cleveland Avenue.  If you have any information please call the Columbus Police Department at (614) 645-4545.

Suspect: Black male, 6' tall, thin, black shirt, dark knit cap, camouflage pants.

Date of Incident: April 15, 2015

Time: 3:20 p.m.

Description: Sexual Imposition (forcible fondling)

Location: 13-S parking lot located at the corner of Spring St. and Grant Ave. on the Columbus Campus.

Details: The Columbus State Police Department is investigating a sexual imposition that occurred in the 13-S parking lot at the corner of Spring Street and Grant Avenue on the Columbus Campus. On 4/15/15 at 3:20 p.m. a female walking to class was inappropriately touched by an African-American male. After the incident the suspect left the scene in an unknown direction. Suspect: DeJuan E. Bagely, African-American male, 6' 3" tall, 194 lbs., 23 years old,  thin build, wearing a red shirt, knit cap. 

On May 7, 2015 DeJuan E. Bagley was arrested by the Columbus State Police Department and was charged through the Franklin County Municipal Court for sexual imposition.

Date of Incident: March 5, 2015

Time: 9:28 a.m.

Description: Sexual Imposition (forcible fondling)

Location: COTA Bus Stop, Cleveland Avenue at Mt. Vernon Avenue (In the City of Columbus)

Details: The Columbus Police Department is investigating a sexual imposition that occurred at the COTA bus stop in the City of Columbus on Cleveland Avenue at Mt. Vernon Avenue. On 3/5/15 at 9:28 a.m. a female waiting for the bus was inappropriately touched by an African-American male.  After the incident the suspect left the scene in an unknown direction.  If you have any information please call the Columbus Police Department at (614) 645-4545.

Suspect: African-American male, medium complexion, mid-twenties in age, approximately 5’9” tall, carrying a backpack. No further description available.

Date of Incident: January 14, 2015

Time: 5:14 p.m.

Description: Sexual Imposition (forcible fondling) 

Location: Columbus Campus - Columbus Hall (Library) 3rd floor Quiet Room

Details:  On 1/14/15 at 5:14 p.m. a female studying on the 3rd floor of Columbus Hall (library) in a Quiet Room was inappropriately touched on the buttocks by an African American male.  After the incident the male immediately left campus walking south on Jefferson Avenue towards Spring Street.  Anyone with information please call the Columbus State Police Department at (614) 287-2525.

Suspect: Lonnie B. Sturdivant, African American male, 40-50 years of age, approximately 5'7"- 5'10" tall, heavy set, wearing brown colored pants, white shoes, black coat, and a dark colored knit cap.

On 1-29-2015 an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Sturdivant through the Franklin County Municipal Court for sexual imposition.

On 2-6-2015 Columbus Police Department took Mr. Sturdivant into custody. Bond has been set at $100,054.00.

Date of Incident: April 10, 2014

Time: 10:48 a.m.

Description: Vehicle Theft

Location: CSCC Columbus Campus

Details: Red 1990 Plymouth Sundance Ohio license plate FUL2237 stolen from a Columbus Campus parking lot at approximately 10:48 a.m.

Suspect: Unknown

Open or Closed Case: UPDATE - Vehicle has been recovered and returned to owner.
