Welcome to the Financial Aid Department. Columbus State Community College realizes that assistance with educational costs is an essential component in allowing many of our students to reach their educational and career goals. Our team of financial aid professionals is committed to providing excellent customer service in order to make the financial aid process as simple and straightforward as possible.

Columbus State Community College participates in Federal Title IV Financial Aid programs that include Pell Grants, Direct subsidized and unsubsidized student loans, and Parent Plus loans. The college also participates in the Federal Work Study program and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunities Grant program. We administer numerous scholarship programs funded by the college and the college's Development Foundation. In addition, we work closely with community organizations to disburse their scholarships to our students who qualify. During the most recent academic year the Financial Aid Department administered more than 110 million dollars of financial aid to in excess of 20,000 students.

The first step in determining your financial aid opportunities at Columbus State is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at . In order to assist you with this important step we offer FAFSA workshops select times of the academic year. I encourage you to take advantage of this resource.

I invite you to review the Financial Aid page on Columbus State's web site. It contains numerous links that will provide you with vital information and resources to insure that you are able to establish and maintain your eligibility for financial aid at the college. In addition, I encourage you to become familiar with and to frequently review both your Columbus State e-mail account and your Cougar Web account. Our primary means to communicating with your regarding your financial aid status is your student e-mail account and your Cougar Web account is a valuable tool to obtain information on both your financial aid and academic status at the college.
