Switch to Semesters
Columbus State (like all state-funding colleges in Ohio) is switching to semesters
in Autumn 2012. But don't worry, Advising Services can help you through the transition.
What's changing with Semesters?
Contact your Advisor: Get in touch with your Advisor to make sure you're on track to graduate, or to make a plan for semesters.
- Advisor Directory
- Advisors for Career & Tech students
- Advisors for Transfer Students / Associate of Arts / Associate of Science
Pledge Audits: If you're graduating before Autumn 2012, don't worry. If you'll graduate after then, see an Advisor to get your Pledge Audit. A Pledge Audit spells out the classes you'll need to graduate on time. If you started a program under quarters, you have until Summer 2014 to finish.
Degree Audit: Be sure to run a Degree Audit to see how close you are to finishing your degree. To run a Degree Audit, log on to CougarWeb and click on "My Degree Audit."
Finish up Course Sequences: If you're in the middle of a course sequence, like Math 102-103-104, try to finish up before the switch. Course sequences will be reshuffled to fit semesters.
Transfer Students: Be sure to check with the school to which you're planning to transfer. If they're a state school, they'll be switching to semesters, too.
For more info on the switch, visit the Switch to Semesters website.
