Become a Professional Appraiser
Start your appraisal career by becoming a State Registered Real Estate Appraisal Assistant, qualified to work with a licensed appraiser. With more education, you can obtain a state license to appraise properties professionally. Completing the associate degree in appraisal qualifies you to become a Certified Residential Appraiser. Combining Appraisal classes with your transfer credit may help you complete a bachelor degree to become a Certified General Appraiser. Appraisers are required to be licensed by the Division of Real Estate in order to perform mortgage loan appraisals in Ohio. License applicants must have a national criminal background check completed as part of the application process. State Registered Real Estate Appraiser Assistant A minimum of seventy-eight (78) pre-registration education hours are required prior to issuance of this registration. This must consist of at least sixty (60) classroom hours of courses in subjects related to real estate appraisal plus three (3) classroom hours devoted exclusively to federal, state and municipal fair housing law and fifteen (15) classroom hours of appraisal standards (USPAP) and provisions of Ohio Revised Code. (No experience necessary). The suggested plan of study for your first several quarters will include 80 classroom hours and are as follows:
Appraisal Degree Program (Associate of Applied Science) Designed for those who are pursuing a certification in appraisal, this course of study provides advanced learning for professional appraisers and classes for life-long learning. meets the standards of professionalism in the appraisal industry. Courses meet the educational requirements for
