Articulation Agreement Review Process In addition to providing access to current articulation agreements via the web, Columbus State has also initiated a web-assisted articulation agreement review process. This process addresses the review and updating of articulation agreements under the following two circumstances: 1. In years when there is no local TCP review, and
2. In years
when a
local TCP
review is scheduled. I. Articulation Agreement Review without TCP Review a. Columbus State will review the current TCP document and compare it with internal course changes, which occur on a yearly internal cycle. b. By March 15, the college will publish updated articulation agreements that take into account the college programs’ internal course changes. An email announcement will be sent to the participating schools. c. Schools will have until April 15, or the first business day thereafter, to provide feedback on the draft articulation agreement. d. Draft articulation agreements will become official after April 15, or the first business day thereafter, unless school responses, during the comment period, show a need for further conversation. School administrators or lead teachers who have questions or comments about draft agreements are encouraged to contact the appropriate chairperson at Columbus State to initiate further discussion about the draft. e. On April 16, or on the first business day thereafter, draft designations on posted articulation agreements will be removed, and the graduation class covered by the agreement, and the expiration date of the agreement, will be added to the posted document. f. Posted documents will be removed from the website on their expiration date.
II. Articulation Agreement Review with TCP Review a. The consortium Development Coordinator will coordinate the review and update activities at the consortium level, convening relevant school and college faculty. All will be given (or directed to the State website for) the current State Technology Competency Profile (TCP). b. At the program review meeting, Columbus State administrators/faculty will review the State curriculum, discuss options for delivery, and develop a draft list of courses for articulation credit for relevant college majors. c. Within 30 days of the review meeting, Columbus State will post the draft articulation agreement on its website. An email announcement will be sent to the participating schools. d. Schools will have 30 days to provide feedback on the draft articulation agreement. e. Newly posted articulation agreements will become official 31 days after the original posting unless school responses show a need for further conversation. f. When draft agreements become official (on the 31st day of posting), “draft” designations will be removed, and the graduating class covered by the agreement, and the expiration date of the agreement, will be added to the posted document.
Schools that can document that their Tech Prep programs should be eligible for articulated credit beyond the published course list can negotiate that with the relevant Columbus State department. If the department agrees, a school-specific memorandum of understanding will make the additional credits available for articulation. Requests with documentation must be received prior to finalization of draft agreements. Posted agreements apply only to the high school graduating class identified on the agreement. Posted agreements will be maintained on the website until their noted expiration date.Back to Heart of Ohio tech Prep Articulation page
