Higher Education Guaranteed for Winners of the March 28th JamQuest. A rare opportunity awaits members of a central Ohio high school band. Columbus State Community College announced today that it will award up to five full scholarships to the members of the winning band of JamQuest 2009. Combined they represent a value of more than $35,000. Milton Ruffin, a Columbus educator and musician said, “It’s the talent that gets you in the door but education sustains you.” Ruffin is the principal at Columbus City Schools’ Fort Hayes Education Center where the scholarship announcement was made. JamQuest takes the annual band event and provides participants with a new and potent top prize. A college education will be a lifelong career marketing tool for the winners. As the state and nation continue to struggle with a faltering economy, higher education will be more vital than ever when today's high school students head out into the world.
