Free Course Materials
SOFIA Project
Sharing of Free Intellectual Assets is a project from California in which a number of instructors have made their course materials available - for free - on the Internet. Courses about Web-page authoring, Java, Flash and network security are just a few of the materials available. (Note: access to course materials is not the same as taking a course, which requires acceptance, registration and fees. These materials are provided for information only.)
MIT OpenCourseware Project
MIT has encouraged their instructors and faculty to make their course materials freely available through this new program. Hundreds of courses - in virtually every corner of intellectual pursuit - are now available. This list contains dozens of courses - undergraduate as well as graduate - including Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Course materials are also available from the world-famous Sloan School of Management. (Note: "access to course materials" is not the same as taking a course (for credit or not), which requires acceptance, registration and fees and assessment. These materials are provided for information only.)
Free University Podcast Courses
The blog Open Culture has created a list of dozens of universities publishing podcast lectures and courses for no charge. "Podcasts" are downloadable audio files playable on a laptop or desktop PC, or portable media devices such as MP3 players.
