Academic On-boarding and Renewal Series

Faculty Orientations

One or more Faculty Orientation sessions will precede the start of each academic term. These sessions are for all faculty whether adjunct or full-time and cover the basics of academic policies and practices, recording keeping systems and requirements, the student conduct process, students with disabilities and a review of campus resources.

New full-time faculty -- tenure track and annual contract -- can participate in an extened orientation day to explore several topics in greater depth and learn more about the expectations and opportunities for their positions.

All new faculty can also take an additional introduction to Blackboard class offered by Instructional Technologies. All courses have an online space (called a "shell") available in Blackboard, the college's online course management system. Even if you are not teaching an online course you can use Blackboard to share materials, communicate with students and even post and grade assignments or quizzes.

Note: If you have taught here previously, and participated in an adjunct orientation, you do not need to attend the 3-hour orientation.
