Digital Photography Category Guidelines and Rules

Images submitted can be black & white or color prints but must have a digital component. (Either shot with a digital camera or film negatives scanned into the computer.) Any Photoshop post-production is acceptable and encouraged.
You may submit a minimum of one (1) to a maximum of ten (10) individual pieces in one or more of the following categories (no more than ten images in total may be submitted). To be clear up to ten entries per contestant are allowed.
DDAF reserves the right to re-categorize entries and to create new categories, if deemed appropriate.
Entries must not defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any personal or proprietary rights of any third party.
Prints must be submitted as an unmounted, 8” x 10” size print with no white borders. The image must cover the entire 8” x 10” sheet of paper (except for the alternative size category).
Prints that are larger or smaller will not be considered for judging (except for the alternative size category). Prints selected for display will be matted and framed at the cost of the Integrated Media & Technology Department).
By entering this contest, you agree to abide by the rules of this contest and to accept the judges' decisions as final. You further agree that your entry is your own original work. Submission of an entry grants Columbus State Community College, and third parties authorized by CSCC, the exclusive, perpetual right to publish, use, edit, adapt, modify, excerpt and/or copy the entry for any and all purposes in any and all media currently in existence or hereafter developed without further compensation to you, which includes, but is not limited, the right to publish the entry on the CSCC website, use in class lectures, etc as we see fit in exhibitions and promotions of CSCC’s photography and related programs. However, the entrant retains all usage rights to the works. Again, DDAF and CSCC assume all entries are original photographs and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein.
An accompanying CD-ROM is to be submitted along with the prints. The CD-ROM is to be labeled with the entrant’s name. The CD-ROM will contain all submitted images at 8” x 10” size (except for the alternative size category which should be sized appropriately), 300 dpi, saved as a JPEG file. Each file should be saved with the entrants first and last name along with category.
Each printed image is to be labeled on the back (do not write in permanent ink…it will show through the print) with student name; email address; and an indication as to which edge is the top.
A completed DDAF Submission Form must be taped to the back of each print in the manner indicated. – Affix to back of entry at the top of the print
Each entry must include the following or it will not be considered for judging.

Saved files on CD-ROM, 8” x 10” size (except for the alternative size category which should be sized appropriately), 300 dpi, JPEG, labeled with a title

Alternative Size (Any theme of your choice that is sized bigger than 8x10 and up to 20” x 26” like square format, panoramas, creative triptychs, etc). These images will hang inside a 24x30 frame.
