Columbus State Community College invites your participation in our 2nd annual Cougar Challenge 5K. Join with students, employees and partners of Columbus State to run for student success. It's also great tune up before the Capital City Half Marathon on May 4th. Great looking shirts to all participants. Runners and Walkers welcome!
Our Purpose
This event, sponsored by the Staff Advisory Council of Columbus State, supports book scholarships for Columbus State Community College students. The cost of books is a significant and often overlooked cost of attending college. While every effort is made to provide students affordable options, sometimes there is no way around the costs of up to date, high quality textbooks. Your participation will help us endow book scholarships so all students can “cross the finish line” of their education.
This run/walk will have special appeal to Central Ohio runners because it will take place on a unique venue: the picturesque Bridgeview Golf Course located on Agler Road next to Alum Creek. The rolling 5k (3.1mile) course will take runners over and between course fairways on a path that will provide a few climbs, fast grassy downhills and a flat finish around the driving range. The looping course is also spectator friendly.
Enjoy a spring morning "on the green" by taking on the Cougar Challenge to run, walk and support Columbus State Students.
Registration
The race fee is $25 in advance, $35 on race day. You can register three ways:
1. You can register online though April 26th. (No additional fee added for online registration!)
2. Register and pick up your packet at Second Sole, 1245 N. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, beginning 4/24/2013 thru 4/26/2013 during store hours.
3. Register on race day beginning at 7:00AM.

WHEN: Saturday, April 27th, 8:00AM
WHERE: Bridgeview Golf Course, 2727 Agler Road, Columbus.
COURSE: The course is an uncertified 5k (3.1 miles). The course is mostly on grass with some dirt and macadam. Cross country spikes are allowed, dogs and strollers, however, are not.
Packets will be available for advanced pick up April 25th and April 26th at Second Sole Gahanna, loctated at 1245 N. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, OH 43230.
Packets can also be picked up race day beginning at 7:00AM
SWAG BAGS
The first 150 participants will receive a goody bag consisting of a great looking Cougar Challenge 5K shirt, CSCC goodies and race number.
TIMING/AWARDS
The event will be chip timed for fast and accurate results. Awards will be given to the Top 3 Male and Female finishers as well as age group winners.
Age Groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 and older
RACE RESULTS
All finish times will be posted on-line following the race at Second Sole Racing.

From 270
From 270, take the Easton Exit. Stay on Easton Way until it dead ends into Sunbury Road. Turn left (south) on Sunbury Road. Go two traffic lights and turn right onto Agler Road. The golf course in on the first driveway on the right side of the street and the Driving Range is the first driveway on the left side of the street.
From Downtown Columbus
Take 71 or 315 north to 670. Go East on 670 (heading toward the airport). Take the Cassady Road Exit. Turn right at the stop sign. Take this to the traffic light and turn right onto Cassady Road. You will stay on Cassady for 2 and ½ miles. As you go across the bridge, Cassady will become Agler and the Driving Range and check in for the golf course is on the left.
