One of the better known comedies of the
Roman playwright Plautus, The Brothers
Menaechmus, also called The Menaechmi or
The Twin Brothers, is about beloved twin
boys separated at age seven when one of
them, Menaechmus, gets lost in a crowd.
To ease their loss, the grieving parents
rename the remaining brother Menaechmus

same town where the unexpected fun
begins, as one is mistaken for the other
in one situation after another.

A group of strangers assemble at the
site of John Lennon’s assassination, a
street in front of the Manhattan
apartment where he lived, to pay tribute
to the slain idol. The playwright
weaves the personal stories of
these people, a cross section of his
fans, ultimately revealing the dark side
of violence in our national psyche.
