Theatre Columbus State presents Parallel
Lives
Theatre Columbus State will recreate Kathy
Najimy and Mo Gaffney's hilarious send-up of
the plight of women and the battle of the
sexes in modern America. San Francisco critic
Chad Jones has called this show "pointed and
funny, compassionate and extremely human."
Parallel Lives originated as a
two-person sketch routine, "The Kathy and Mo
Show," with Najimy and Gaffney playing a host
of different, eccentric characters. HBO filmed
a performance in San Francisco, and the
resulting broadcast won the 1991 CableACE
award for Best Comedy Performance and Best
Comedy Special of the year. Mel Gussow at the
New York Times called them "playful
post-feminist satirists."
Columbus State performers step into the roles
created by "Kathy and Mo," for the following
performances in Nestor Auditorium:
Thursday, May
17, at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Friday, May 18, at 8:00 pm
Saturday, May 19, at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
Prepare to laugh.
