November 10 workshop on "Dumb Things We Say and Write"

See if you can identify the problem with the following character description: "Diane had a firm jaw, piercing eyes, and a wry smile, with long flowing black hair."  It's exactly the kind of "dumb thing" that grammarian and writer Clint Friedley specializes in.

Friedley, author of 101 Dumb Things We Write and I Feel Badly and I Enjoyed Myself, will be the second presenter of this season's Visiting Authors workshop series, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Nestor Hall's lower level.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served, because writers love to eat.

The Visiting Authors Workshop series is funded by a grant from the Columbus State Development Foundation.
