The mission of the Communication Skills Department of Columbus State Community College is to provide quality programs in the areas of communication skills, humanities, theatre, and literature that meet the varied needs of the department's service populations.
Goals
To strive for excellence in the quality and effectiveness of its courses and educational services.
To develop educational programs in the areas of literature, theatre and communications in keeping with Columbus State's mission as a comprehensive community college.
To improve the likelihood that students will successfully achieve their educational goals by offering programs that improve their communication skills and literary awareness.
To ensure the professional development and expertise of the department's faculty and staff.
To increase access to and improve retention in the department's programs.
