Columbus State's fourth Writers Conference focuses on building strong, supportive writing relationships for community residents by offering the opportunity to unite and share in an exciting two-day line-up of talented writers, poets, agents, and marketing experts.

Walter Mosley: "This Year You Write Your Novel"

“Let the lawn get shaggy and the paint peel from the walls," says Walter Mosley as he inspires writers to turn novel ideas into written drafts and vibrant revisions within one year.

Walter Mosley is the author of 28 books including the Easy Rawlins’ mysteries and Fearless Jones mysteries, several works of literary fiction and science fiction, and nonfiction focus on social and political issues. Two movies have been made from his work including Devil in a Blue Dress and Always Outnumbered. His most recent novels include Killing Johnny Fry: A Sexistential Novel and This Year You Write Your Novel. Mosley was recently honored by the Sundance Institute for his creative and activist efforts.
