Read-In event is today!
Students are invited to participate in the annual African American Read-In being held
in honor of Black History Month. The Read-In will be held TODAY Wednesday, February 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Nestor Hall West Lounge. Come and share your
original work or read an excerpt from an African American literary work that you love.
Light refreshments will be available.
Dental Hygiene students shine over weekend
Dental Hygiene students participated in a “Millionaire Board Review” February 4 at
the Procter & Gamble headquarters near Cincinnati. The event prepares students for
the upcoming National Dental Hygiene Board Examination required for licensure. From
the four colleges that participated in the competition, Columbus State won the first
place prize of $400.
Transfer fairs to be held at regional centers
The Reynoldsburg, Dublin and Westerville regional learning centers will each host
a Transfer Fair and FAFSA Workshop in the coming weeks. You don’t have to travel far
for a special opportunity to take part in this event, where Columbus State’s partner
universities will lend their knowledge and expertise about transferring and share
their college’s program options.
Representatives from Financial Aid will also assist you with completing the FAFSA
and answering any financial aid questions you might have.

The Transfer Fair and FAFSA Workshops will be held:
Tuesday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at the Reynoldsburg RLC – FAFSA workshops at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 22, from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at the Dublin RLC – FAFSA workshop at 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, March 2, from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. at the Westerville RLC – FAFSA workshops at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.
COTA offers public forums on transportation
It’s time to transform mobility in Central Ohio. From autonomous vehicles and rapid
transit, to expanded bus service, the future of transportation is now. Join COTA at
its NextGen public forums. The next forum is Tuesday, February 14, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at The Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St. on the OSU campus.

Columbus State students can participate in distracted driving study
Experts at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus are in the midst of an in-depth
study on distracted driving. As part of that study, Dr. Motao Zhuat is recruiting
Columbus State students. There are guidelines for who can take part. If you are interested,
please visit http://www.nationwidechildrens.org/cirp-distracted-driving-study for more information. Participants will be compensated for their time.
Employer added to next week’s recruitment tables
Approved employers are invited to host Recruitment Information Tables in the Nestor
Hall Lobby area, in order to inform students about their employment opportunities.
The tables are offered Monday through Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The next scheduled opportunity is from the Two Men and a Truck company, who will here
on Tuesday, February 14, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to talk with you about their job openings for customer service
representatives, HR interns, operations interns, and movers and drivers. Also coming
to campus on Wednesday, February 15, is Universal Windows Direct, who will be at a table in the Center for Technology
and Learning (TL) lobby from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. hiring for marketing representatives.
