Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Summer Enrollment is now open. Over three thousand
students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher who had completed at least 12 credit
hours here at Columbus State have received email invitations this week* to the academic
honor society for community college students.
You can check out the website www.ptk.org and log in as a guest to read about the many benefits of memberships, including great
transfer scholarships to over 700 four-year colleges and universities nationwide!
For example, Ohio Wesleyan offers our members $20,000 a year to complete their bachelor’s
degree and Capital University offers Phi Theta Kappa members 50 percent off tuition
to attend as a traditional student. (You should check with a transfer advisor at the
college of your choice for scholarship specifics for Phi Theta Kappa members).
The chapter office in Nestor Hall room 122A is open Mon., Wed., and Thurs., from

Parent support brochure now available
A new booklet is available to let your parents see all the resources Columbus State
offers its students. The booklet can be viewed online, so you might want to show it to your parents or guardians, to let them know you’ve
got everything under control and are able to take charge of your own education and

The final Pharmacy Technician Information Session will be offered on Monday, August 11, at 6:00 p.m. in Union Hall 227. If you are interested in the field of healthcare,
becoming a pharmacy technician is a great place to start. The Pharmacy Technician
Program at Columbus State gets you job-ready with just four classes (10 credit hours
– just one semester).

BLUEprint workshop offered: “Take Note!”
Learn the three-step process of note-taking to help you remember information from
your class lectures and reading. Get strategies to apply these skills to any course at Columbus State! The workshop is offered on Monday, June 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Library, room 111.
BLUEprint workshop offered: “Realistic Goal-Setting”
Many times we focus on our BIG or long-term goals and lose sight of the “here and
now.” In this workshop, you will focus on setting short-term, attainable goals. The workshop is offered on
Tuesday, June 17, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Library, room 111.

Don’t have a major yet? This session will help you find ways to connect your interests
with career pathways. We will feature activities and library resources that will show
you a variety of options that fit with your skills and abilities. Sessions are offered:
Thursday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. in Eibling Hall, 201C
Tuesday, July 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., in Eibling Hall 201C, and
Tuesday, July 15, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Moeller Hall 135, on the Delaware Campus
Library has FIFA World Cup!
An event this great can only happen once every four years! Join millions of viewers
and fans around the world in watching the 2014 FIFA World Cup hosted by Brazil. First
round matches begin Thursday, June 12, at 4:00 p.m. when Brazil debuts against Croatia.
Schedule permitting, all matches will be streamed in the library’s Media Studio located
in Columbus Hall, Room 111, throughout the tournament. For a comprehensive list of
