Account information on CougarWeb to be improved July 1
Starting the week of July 1, Columbus State will be enhancing the way you view your
account and enrollment information.
You will still access CougarWeb in order to view student finance information and to
make payments, but the options for managing your student account (within the Financial
Information section) will be more streamlined, will be easier to use, and will provide
a greater level of detail.
The new link from CougarWeb will be called “Manage my Account” and you can:
- View account activity for the current term and past terms – including a detailed summary
of your charges (including tuition and fees by course), book allowance transactions
and refund information.
- View payments applied to your account and your overall balance by term.
- Make a payment.
- View your financial aid award information.
Finally, there will be a new feature that will allow you to generate a copy of your account statement that you
can print or save for your own records.
You will see more detailed information when you log in to CougarWeb after the enhancements
are complete on July 1.

Lincoln Exhibit open in Library, events added to schedule
More events have been added to the schedule to complement the national Lincoln Exhibition, now open on the second floor! The Lincoln exhibit runs through August 16.
Every other Tuesday in July at 6:00 p.m., the summer ensembles of the Columbus State
Concert Band will perform both patriotic and popular music from the Civil War era.
Director Thomas Lloyd will provide narration, giving the history of the songs and
composers. On July 2, the Saxophone Ensemble will play, then on July 16, the Woodwind
and Brass Ensembles will perform together. Finally, on July 30, the ensembles will
combine to create a Civil War Band!
The concerts are brief, around 30 minutes in length, and some of the tunes are still
well known today, like "America" and "The Star Spangled Banner"—although the latter
was not the national anthem at the time of the Civil War. Other songs have faded into
obscurity, like "We are Coming, Father Abra'am" and "Just Before the Battle, Mother."
Also, the Lincoln Film Series continues, with a rotating schedule of movies shown in the first floor multimedia
studio at 10 a.m. daily. Columbus State faculty will also present a lecture series that addresses the theme, with the first one coming up today at 1 p.m.!
