College Credit Plus Testing

COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS/DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS: Consult your school counselor or Columbus State advisor assigned to your school about placement testing for Columbus State courses.

Once you have completed your College Credit Plus (Dual Credit) application for admissions, your next step is placement. This will assure that you are prepared to work at the college level and succeed in the Dual Credit/CCP course(s) you wish to take.

Most students will need to take the Columbus State placement tests and achieve a college-ready score in order to register for any Dual Credit/CCP course. However, if you have any of the qualifying scores/credit listed in the chart below, you may not need to take the placement test for that subject.

See your school counselor if you have any of the following:

Important Notes on Taking Placement Tests

  • Tests must be taken at an official Columbus State-approved testing site. Ask your school counselor for information about testing at your high school. If your high school does not provide placement testing, you may test at a Columbus State Testing Center. Visit cscc.edu/testingcenter for times and locations.
  • You do not have to take all the tests on the same day. However each test must be completed in one sitting. Once you begin a test, you may not leave the testing site and return to that test later.
  • You will not be permitted to use books or notes while taking placement tests.
  • Bring something to write with (pencil or pen) to the Testing Center when you plan to take a test.
