Living In Columbus
Information about Living in Columbus for International Students

Housing
Opportunities for student housing, including information on apartments, home sharing,
and roommate matching, are available through Student Activities and Athletics. Students
are encouraged to stop by the Student Activities Office, Nestor Hall 116, or call
(614) 287-2637 for current housing information. Columbus State does not provide campus
housing, the Student Activities Office only disseminates information it receives.
Additionally, the City of Columbus’ website contains valuable information about the city and surrounding area, including housing options and a variety of other services and events.
Transportation
Unless you plan to purchase an automobile in the US, you may need to rely on the local
bus service to get to and from school. The Central Ohio Transportation Authority
(COTA) provides bus service within the City of Columbus and to the surrounding suburbs.
Banking
If you plan to open a bank account in Columbus, you will be able to do so with your
passport, I-20 and your Student Identification Card as identifying documents. We
will provide you with more information about this when you arrive.
