The Basic English test is required to be placed in the Columbus
State’s Language Institute’s courses. The process
of taking this test begins with the Language Institute at
the Center for Workforce Development
(315 Cleveland Ave.) Once you have visited this building on campus,
you may pay your $3 fee in the Cashier’s Office in Rhodes
Hall. Bring your receipt and a papers from the Language Institute
to
the ACT/SkillsMAX Testing and Assessment Center (also in
the Center for Workforce Development), to take the paper-and-pencil
exam. This exam will be about an hour in length and depending
on testing schedules will require about ten minutes to score.
This test is given on a walk-in basis.
