WHICH ROCK IS WHICH?  Gives students a chance to test their observation and reasoning skills to identify some common types of rocks and minerals found in nature.

THE  GREAT BEAD  KEYCHAIN KAPER  tests map and compass-reading skills.  Teams of students equipped with compasses and a campus map navigate around the CSCC campus.   If the team is successful, each student takes home a souvenir keychain that is assembled during the hike.  (WEATHER PERMITTING)

EFFECTS OF AN OIL SPILL  When the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in Summer 2010, thousands of gallons of crude oil spilled into  the ocean. What were the long-term consequences of this pollution on the  birds,  fish and other wildlife?   This experiment attempts to show students the damage that oil can cause in the environment.
