Woodwind Ensemble performs Saint-Saens “The Carnival of the Animals”

The Woodwind Ensemble will be performing Saint-Saens “The Carnival of the Animals” in an arrangement for woodwinds and two pianos by Thomas Lloyd.  The piano soloists are Rose Zuber and Ailene Albrecht.


Columbus State Concert Band presents “A Sousa Salute”
Tuesday, April 14

The band will be  celebrating concerts given by Sousa’s Band in Columbus in April 1915. The three soloists will be William Manley, violin, playing “The Meditation from Thais,” Dan King, cornet, playing “The Bride of the Waves,” and Elizabeth Scinto, soprano, singing “Musetta’s Waltz from La Boheme.”

Band Celebrates tenth Anniversary

Columbus State Concert band gave its first concert in November of 1998.

Columbus State Concert Band & Small Group Ensembles

Under the direction of Thomas Lloyd, the Columbus State Concert Band and Ensembles include players from a variety of experience including students, faculty, and community members. Opportunities are available for credit and non-credit participation. Concert Band rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm during Fall, Winter and Spring terms. Ensemble rehearsals are one afternoon or evening per week throughout the year.

Columbus State Concert Band Fall Concert, Tuesday, October 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the WD-435 ballroom of the Workforce Development Building (315 Cleveland Ave.)

The band will perform music inspired by Lincoln including the 1909 “Lincoln Centennial March,” John Williams’ music from the movie “Lincoln,” and Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait.”  Lincoln Presenter Robert Brugler will be the guest artist.
