Mental Health / Addiction Studies / Developmental Disabilities
This five semester program prepares students to work in the human services professions including social work, mental health, addictions and developmental disabilities. The curriculum provides students with classroom instruction and practical skills necessary to become effective helpers. The program stresses important knowledge, skills and characteristics graduates need to be effective helpers n this profession. Students participate in practicum experiences in a variety of human services settings.

License/Certification
Students completing MHAD 1114: Introduction to Addiction Studies meets the 40 hour education requirement for Phase I of the Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
Graduates who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in MH/AS/DD are eligible to apply for a Certificate of Registration as a Social Worker Assistant with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board. Graduates also meet the degree requirement for the License Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
Practicum Experiences
This program includes two semesters, or 420 hours of hands-on, supervised practicum/internships experience under the direct supervision of professionals in local agencies.
Mandatory Program Information Sessions
Information sessions are held each semester; to include at least one during the day and one in the evening. This session is mandatory for students to attend prior to or when attending the first MHAD Introductory course.
