A National Honor Society student in high school, Laura knew she wanted both the challenge of an honors curriculum and a way to get involved when she came to Columbus State. She found both – and more – in the Honors Program.

Laura made the decision to come to Columbus State because she wasn't sure what career path she wanted to pursue. "Columbus State is great because you can complete your Gen Ed classes, and also have a chance to explore different majors." The Honors Program hosts guest speakers from a variety of different career fields, which has led Laura to think about options she wouldn't have otherwise known existed!

Along with the Honors Program, Laura is involved with the Women's Connection and is a student ambassador at Columbus State. She also joined the Columbus State women's cross country team that would go on to be the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Region 12 Division Three Runners Up. .

Laura says all of her activities have led to lasting friendships and helped her feel connected to the campus community. She graduated from Columbus State with an Associate of Science in May 2017.
