Ethan’s interest have always been in the areas of computers and technology. “When I was 5 years old, my dad came home with the white box that could do all these amazing things,” he laughs. The “box” was actually an E-Machine computer and Ethan took to it like a fish to water.

“I loved playing games on it, but I wanted to learn all the programs, too. I learned Excel, Powerpoint…everything I could. By the age of 9, I was modifying video games and adding new things for fun.” Now in the Associate of Science program at Columbus State, Ethan plans to major in Computer Science at Ohio State.

Ethan entered Columbus State as both a STEM scholar in the Choose Ohio First program, and an Honors Program student. “At first, when I looked at the Honors Program, there seemed to be a lot of activities you had to complete. But once I went to a couple, I realized that you want to go to more!” One of his favorite activities so far was attending Ted-X Columbus. “I like how the Honors Program gets you learning about things you wouldn’t even think about!”
