Government shutdown information for veterans
Update: Due to furloughs, veterans will experience longer waits in getting questions answered. However, the Department of Veterans Affairs is still processing payments for education claims and automated telephone lines remain open.
School officials will continue to have access to VA-Once and should continue to submit enrollment certifications for processing to VA. Students enrolled in education benefit programs other than the Post-9/11 GI Bill may verify their enrollment via WAVE (http://www.gibill.va.gov/resources/verify_attendance/) or by calling the VA's Interactive Voice Response system at 1-877-823-2378. Those pursuing non-college degree programs under chapter 35 (DEA) should call 1-800-827-1000 to verify enrollment. Post-9/11 GI Bill students are not required to verify enrollment.
