Paralegal Extreme Makeover
Columbus State to host prestigious regional trade conference
Columbus State will be the center of the Central Ohio paralegal industry Sept. 27 as it hosts Paralegal Extreme Makeover.
Paralegal Extreme Makeover is a conference sponsored by the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio, and will take place at the Columbus State Conference Center, in the Center for Workforce Development, 315 Cleveland Ave. It will feature speakers on popular topics and new trends in the paralegal industry, such as:
- The Franklin County Clerk of Courts office
- How to Land Your Next Job
- Critical Case and Matter Analysis
- Ohio State Bar Association Paralegal Certification
The event is a valuable opportunity to network and find jobs, said Prof. Hakim Adjoua. In addition to law firms, paralegals are often employed at regulatory agencies and other companies that deal with legal requirements.
“I think it exposes students to a career that is in high demand,” Adjoua said.
The event will also introduce potential employers to Columbus State’s Paralegal Studies program – although the program is already well-known in the area.
“Most of the officers of the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio are Columbus State grads,” Adjoua said.
