Westerville classes canceled until 2 p.m. due to a power outage.
Email upgrade is on for June 14
Columbus State is upgrading from Live@Edu to Office 365. The transition will begin at 11 p.m. Friday, June 14. The conversion process will take 2-5 days; the college website will carry a notification when the conversion is complete.
Student email will be unavailable during the conversion, although faculty email and Blackboard will be up and running. Expect email to be down at least through the weekend of June 14-16. Make arrangements with your professor if you need to submit work during this period.
Columbus State upgraded student email to Live@Edu last year. This was a separate project.
If you bookmarked http://live.com, it will not work after June 14 and you should update it. Change your bookmark to http://outlook.com/student.cscc.edu.
The new student email account will include email, file sharing through SharePoint Online, online MS Office programs for creating and reading documents, instant messaging, and online meetings.
Note: Additional features, such as Lync and SharePoint Online, will not be available until approximately 30 days after the email switch.
Email from Live@Edu accounts will be migrated to Office 365. SkyDrive accounts, however, will become a separate account with the password managed by Microsoft. Initially, the password for the SkyDrive account will be whatever it is on June 14. After the upgrade is complete, you can change the password to your SkyDrive account using Microsoft's interface and tools located at http://skydrive.com.
Columbus State will not be able to assist with password changes to the SkyDrive account after the upgrade. Any items saved to the SkyDrive will remain in the SkyDrive.
There will be a new look to the initial login page when student email is accessed. Here's what it will look like:
