Tax forms are coming
Columbus State Community College provides students with the opportunity to receive the 2012 Form 1098-T electronically. We have contracted with a specialized provider, Tab Service Company, for this service.
Form 1098-T is a "Tuition Payments Statement" that higher educational institutions are required to provide to eligible students and the IRS. You receive this form because higher education costs may be eligible for tax benefits. For more information please consult a tax professional or the IRS website at www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p970.pdf.
IRS regulations state that each student who wishes to receive their 1098-T electronically must also provide his/her consent electronically. Therefore, if you wish to take advantage of this, you must sign up.
1098-T tax reporting information for 2012 will be available online by Jan. 18, 2013 for students whose qualified tuition and related expenses were incurred in 2012.
To sign up, you must copy and paste this link to the web browser: https://www.tsc1099.com/login1098.aspx
Enter the Site ID: 10409
User Name: Your 7-digit Cougar ID Number - (Include zero if your Cougar ID begins with zero)
Password: Use the same password you used last year. If you are a new enrollee, your password is the last 4 digits of your social security number (SSN)
For security reasons, you will then be prompted to change your password. Enter your old password (last four digits of your SSN) and then enter a new password of your choosing. The new password must be 7 characters and contain at least one digit.
Once you have entered your new password, you will be presented with the Online Consent Form. Read the Online Consent Form for the requirements and specifications. If you agree, click on "Consent".
