Cougars move up the bench
Graduating basketball team members earn full scholarships to four-year schools
It’s another big score for the Columbus State’s Men’s Basketball Team. While one player, Glenn Cosey, achieved a new school scoring record and was named the conference player of the year, the team itself set a new academic mark.
Seven players have signed full scholarships at four-year schools, with two of them set to play in Division I.
“It’s awesome to have seven kids from one community college team earn full scholarships,” says Coach Pat Carlisle. “It shows our rigorous program paid off. Coaches helped oversee the academic plans for each player, and they provided advice and support throughout the year. It’s simply amazing and is another one of those benchmarks that proves Columbus State Men's Basketball Team is among the national elite.”
The players earning full scholarships and their respective colleges are:
Glenn Cosey - Tennessee Tech University NCAA D1
Brook Turson - Ashland University NCAA D2
Dimitri Abner - West Virginia State University NCAA D2
Kendrick Ward - West Virginia State University NCAA D2
George Harper - Central State University NCAA D2
