Photography Request Guidelines

To request a photographer to document your special event or activity on campus, please fill out a Photo Request Form after considering the following guidelines:

To be considered for inclusion in Update or Campus Life, an article (and accompanying photograph) should be one of the following:

• Applicable to a majority of Columbus State faculty and staff (Update), or students (Campus Life), across all campuses
• Timely and of news value to the campus community
• Specifically tailored to faculty and staff needs (Update); or specifically tailored to student needs (Campus Life)

In general, photographs of meetings, committees, speeches, and presentations held at the department level are not necessary to convey the pertinent news, and the Marketing and Communications Department is unable to accommodate these types of photo requests.

 

The Marketing and Communications Department has limited staff and equipment available to photograph news events, feature stories, and activities that are applicable to be published in Update, the employee newsletter, in Campus Life, the student newsletter, on the website as feature news, or to update department pages, or in recruitment publications produced in the Marketing and Communications Department.

When necessary, the department utilizes freelance professional photographers for special assignments, especially for college recruitment and external stakeholder publications or news. The Marketing and Communications Department can accommodate your professional portrait requests with submission of a Photo Request Form.

 

Columbus State Community College, a public Ohio community college, reserves the right to use photographs, video and electronic images of students and visitors, age 18 and older, taken on college property and at college-sponsored events, for marketing and promotional purposes.
