This FAQ was prepared by Ohio State Marion to aid Ohio State students coming to the Delaware Campus.
What OSU courses will be offered at the Columbus State Delaware location?
The OSU schedule is still being finalized, but will include enhanced offerings of upper division courses in a number of majors and a variety of advanced GEC courses. Here is a link to the current list of OSU courses at the Delaware Campus: http://osumarion.osu.edu/schedules
Who will be teaching the OSU courses at the Columbus State Delaware location?
OSU approved faculty will be teaching the OSU courses there, including many of the same OSU faculty who are currently teaching at the Delaware Center.
What are my course options at the Marion campus?
The same breadth and quality of OSU courses will be offered in Marion as in previous years, with some additional offerings of first year courses in English, math, and other disciplines. Here is a link to the current draft of Marion campus courses: http://osumarion.osu.edu/files/mar.html
How will OSU transcripts list the OSU courses being taught at the Columbus State Delaware location?
The courses are OSU courses taught by OSU faculty and will appear on a student’s OSU transcript just as any OSU course taken on any other OSU campus (including the Delaware Center) currently does.
What will be the tuition for OSU courses offered at the Columbus State Delaware location?
As long as the majority of a student’s OSU credit hours in a given quarter are being taken at the Columbus State Delaware location or at the Marion campus or at any other OSU regional campus, the lower tuition rate charged at OSU’s regional campuses will apply.
Will OSU students taking OSU courses at the Columbus State Delaware location have access to financial aid and scholarships?
Ohio State students taking OSU courses there will have the same access to financial aid and scholarships through Ohio State Marion as they have had at the Delaware Center and on the Marion campus.
What will be the procedures for scheduling OSU courses taught at the Columbus State Delaware location?
The procedures will be the same as now, conducted on-line through the student’s “Student Center” based on when a student’s enrollment window opens. OSU courses being taught there will be identified as such on the Ohio State Marion website, just as Delaware Center courses are now. Students also can access the schedule of Marion campus courses from the website.
What rooms will be available for OSU’s use at the Columbus State Delaware location?
OSU will have 5 reserved, state-of-the-art classrooms and will share the use of computer classrooms, computer laboratories, and science laboratories. Open House tours will be held beginning in Spring 2011, so students can see the beautiful new building which has vastly more student gathering space and an area for the planned food service.
What computer services and wireless services will be available for OSU students at the Columbus State Delaware location?
The computer labs will be available for OSU students to use, and OSU wireless connectivity will be provided. OSU software and access to OSU websites and resources and support services similar to what is currently present at the Delaware Center will be available at Columbus State Delaware as well.
What library resources will be available for OSU students at the Columbus State Delaware location?
OSU students will have access to library services provided by the Learning Center at Columbus State Delaware, access to OhioLink, and access to the OSU Library Catalog and electronic resources. There also will be a pick-up and drop-off location for library books similar to what the Delaware Center has now.
Will academic support services for OSU students be available at the Columbus State Delaware location?
What about parking?
Columbus State Delaware has plenty of safe, secure parking in well-lit lots patrolled by the campus security forces.
Is there a maximum number of students that will be permitted to take classes at the Delaware Campus?
No, there is no limit on the number of students that enroll.
Will program 60 students and PSEO students be able to take classes at the Delaware Campus?
Absolutely, the process for these students will not change.
