I began my career at Columbus State Community
College as an Adjunct Instructor in January, 1991. I designed the
evening program plan of study and became a full-time Instructor and
evening Clinical Coordinator in June, 1996.
I accepted the position of Program Coordinator in June 1998, and am
currently an Associate Professor teaching Client Relations, Clinical
Applications I and II, and the evening program Clinical Seminar
series. In 1998, I was honored to be a recipient of Columbus State
Community College’s Distinguished Teaching Award, for excellence in
instruction.
I enjoy helping students by volunteering on Columbus State’s
“Welcome Team,” and am actively involved in the veterinary
profession through service as President of the Central Ohio
Veterinary Medical Association. I also preside over the Veterinary
Technology Program’s Advisory Committee, am a member of Columbus
State’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and serve on
Northwest Career Center’s Animal Technician Advisory Committee and
Tolles Career and Technical Center’s Small Animal Care Advisory
Committee.
To keep my skills current, and bring interesting cases to the
classroom, I continue to practice small animal veterinary medicine
at Whitehall Animal Hospital, on the east side of Columbus, Ohio.
My extended human and animal family includes my husband, daughter,
two step-sons, and our dog, cat, and horse. In my spare time, I
enjoy gardening, horseback riding, and traveling!

I am a graduate of Columbus
State Community College, 2004, with a degree in Veterinary
Technology. Some experiences include growing up on a small farm with
many farm animals, working on an equine farm, caring and showing for
horses, working at a humane society and small animal veterinary
clinic and working at a diagnostic laboratory.
My Rottweiler, Brutus and rat, Gimli love being around people and
other animals. It works out wonderfully that they love people,
because I don’t have to worry about how they will act when I am
traveling overseas. Some of my traveling experiences include going
to the Bahamas and Peru to do volunteer construction work (I have
also done volunteer construction work in the United States).
I have also been to China. I truly enjoy other cultures. I also am a
BIG reader, which is great while I’m traveling. I enjoy laboratory
work, so I’m mainly teaching the laboratory courses such as
hematology, microbiology and urinalysis. I will also be gradually
transitioned into animal care courses.
EDUCATION: Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.
Currently working on Bachelors in Microbiology at The Ohio State
University.
CREDENTIALS: Registered Veterinary Technician.

grew up loving all animals and my favorites are Quarterhorses and
