High school students compete for national
berth in AAA/Ford competition
Ten
high school teams of two students each compete to fix their “bugged” car
in the annual state AAA/Ford Student Auto Skills competition, held
Friday on the Columbus State campus. The 20 students qualified for the
Ohio competition through a written test, then competed to win
scholarships, tools, and an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for
the national competition in June. The team from Four-County Vocational
High School won the contest. The 2005 Student Auto Skills contest
organizer was Chuck Wilson, coordinator of Columbus State’s Ford
ASSET program. Five students who competed in past years are currently
enrolled at Columbus State.
